THE BRIEF

This project marked Treefrog's first venture into property and holiday accommodation video production, making it a particularly exciting one for the team.

The owners of a beautifully converted barn cottage in the East of England wanted a professional property walkthrough video that could be used across holiday booking and cottage rental platforms. The aim was to give prospective guests a much stronger sense of the property than photography alone can provide, helping them visualise their stay before making a booking.

The property itself offered a range of unique features, from its exposed beams and characterful interiors to a swimming pool, games room, and even resident chickens providing fresh eggs for guests. The challenge was to showcase these features in a way that felt natural, inviting, and reflective of the experience visitors could expect when staying there.

OUR APPROACH

Before any filming began, we spent time walking through the property and surrounding grounds without cameras. This allowed us to experience the cottage in the same way a guest would and identify the features that would have the greatest impact on potential visitors.

Rather than simply documenting each room, we focused on what makes the property special. We looked at how guests would move through the space, where the most attractive viewpoints were, and which details helped create a memorable experience. The exposed wooden beams, outdoor areas, swimming pool, pool table, and countryside surroundings all became key parts of the story we wanted the video to tell.

The goal was to create a video that felt warm, welcoming, and aspirational while still providing a genuine representation of the property itself.

THE PRODUCTION

Once the filming plan had been established, our team carefully prepared each area of the property before shooting began. Lighting was used throughout the interior spaces to ensure every room looked bright, inviting, and true to life, while still maintaining the character and atmosphere of the cottage.

Filming combined smooth interior walkthrough footage with carefully composed exterior shots that highlighted both the building and its surrounding setting. To provide additional context and showcase the scale of the property, we also utilised drone footage, capturing elevated views of the cottage and the surrounding countryside.

Throughout the shoot, attention was given to the small details that help potential guests connect emotionally with a property. Rather than focusing solely on rooms and facilities, we aimed to capture the lifestyle and experience that comes with staying there. From relaxing by the pool to enjoying the character of the converted barn itself, every shot was selected to help viewers picture themselves spending time at the property.

Following filming, the footage was professionally edited into a polished property walkthrough video designed specifically for use across holiday booking platforms and promotional channels.

THE OUTCOME

The finished video provides the property owners with a valuable marketing asset that helps their cottage stand out in a competitive holiday rental market.

By combining interior walkthrough footage, exterior visuals, and aerial drone shots, the video gives prospective guests a far more complete understanding of the property than photography alone can achieve. Viewers can explore the layout, appreciate the unique character of the building, and gain a genuine feel for the experience the cottage offers.
